During her prior assignment as the chief doctor of the Lewis and Clark, she accompanied the crew on their exploration mission to Júpiter. Carl Wainwright, the prior commander, trusted her not only as a doctor but also as a friend. Following him to the USS Atlanta, she seamlessly transitioned into the position of chief doctor. Carl requested her expertise in advising the Court of inquiry on medical matters.
