Dr Alano Santos

Commander of the US STARCOM Japanese Passenger Squadron and chief medical officer

May 22, 2040

Date of Birth:

While his father was assigned to Brazil, he was born. Father's occupation as a Panamanian diplomat allowed him to interact with people from various cultures and nations. His grandfather immigrated to Panamá from Holland as a youth. Alano attended St. Martins University, a prestigious institution chartered by the Government of the Netherlands Antilles. Here, he pursued his dream of becoming a doctor and earned a Doctor of Medicine degree. In Holland, Dr. Santos tirelessly served in multiple hospitals throughout her career. During his time in Holland, he learned specialized techniques for identifying clones in emergency situations. His postgraduate training followed at John Peter Smith Hospital, where he honed his medical skills. He worked in multiple hospitals in Texas, specializing in surgery, emergency medicine, and cardiothoracic surgery. He found love and wedded a woman who proudly called Austin, Texas, her home. Their family comprised four children, each with their own distinct personalities shining through. In response to the outbreak of the grey death, he was recruited by the military to deliver medical aid in the north Texas quarantine zone, a place he considered home. His survival came at a substantial cost, as he mourned the loss of his entire family, save for his daughter, Trista. She had married John McCurdy and was settling into a new house, a place that felt worlds away from her childhood home. When Alano received the invitation to accept a command of the New US STARCOM Japanese Passenger Squadron in Japan, he knew it was a prestigious opportunity. As the overseer of the New USA quarantine ships, his primary responsibility was to oversee the screening and isolation process for personnel arriving in Japan.
